ハヤブサ防衛行動ログ＃5

We are investigating territorial defense behavior against intruders at the nesting
site of a breeding pair of Peregrine Falcons.

9:15 観察開始　start

早々に２羽が上空で小鳥の群れを襲撃(狩りは失敗)　そのまま餌探しへ

Both individuals launched an early aerial attack on a flock of small birds, but the hunt was unsuccessful. They subsequently left the area to continue foraging.

9:48 100m上空に餌を持ったミサゴが旋回するも、ハヤブサ不在

An Osprey carrying prey was observed circling at approximately 100 m above the site; no peregrines were present.

10:06 100m上空にトビ６羽集結、旋回上昇するもハヤブサ不在

Six Black Kites were circling and ascending at around 100 m; no peregrines were present.

10:20 1羽戻り(餌をもっている)　のちに発覚、この時２羽戻っていたが別方向で気が付かず

One individual returned carrying prey; it was later found that two individuals had actually returned, but one was missed as it approached from a different direction.

11:03 １羽が左の餌場でハトを食す。対面の崖の上でもう一羽が鳴いている。

One individual fed on a pigeon at the left feeding site; the other was vocalizing on the opposite cliff.

11:25 餌(ハト)持ち50ｍ-100ｍの上空を旋回する。餌場でオスメスが入れ替わる。

An individual carrying prey (pigeon) was circling at 50–100 m; the male and female then switched at the feeding site.

Calls were also heard.

今日は11時から餌持ちでの飛行が続いた。餌あり時の鳴き声の違いや相手への反応などは、データを積み重ねて傾向を調べたい。短時間で写真多めな(500枚)一日だった。写真の精度の高めたい。

From 11:00 onward, repeated prey-carrying flights were observed. I aim to accumulate further data to examine patterns in vocalizations and behavioral responses toward the mate when prey is present. It was a highly productive day, with approximately 500 photographs taken, and I aim to further improve the precision of my images.
