We are investigating territorial defense behavior against intruders at the nesting site of a breeding pair of Peregrine Falcons.

Osprey perched on a low tree branch within the territory (~138 m from nest, three-point measurement); no response from Peregrines.

Male did not enter the nest and circled; the female left the nest, and an aerial prey transfer occurred.
- 巣に入らずそのまま旋回し巣からメスが飛び出して、空中餌渡しを行う。

Summary（まとめ）
Today, I successfully recorded an aerial prey transfer for the first time since beginning observations of Peregrine Falcons at this site. Although such behavior appeared to be rare in this field, observing it directly was reassuring.
In addition, a juvenile Peregrine Falcon entered the territory. It remains unclear whether this individual was one of last year’s fledglings, but this could not be confirmed. Continued observations may reveal whether juveniles return to the area.
Temperatures are rising, and rain is forecast for the coming week. Spring is approaching.
- 今日はハヤブサの観察を始めてから初となる「空中餌渡し」を撮ることができた。ここのフィールドの個体はあまり空中餌渡しをしていないようだったが、実際にみれたので安心した。それ以外にもハヤブサの若鳥が侵入した。昨年巣立った個体なのかも気になるが確認はできない。今後も観察していく中でまた若鳥がくるかもしれない。気温が高くなってきたが来週はずっと雨予報だ。もう春になる。
